Accolades to My Alpha North Brothers Regarding a Vietnam Anniversary Date!

On April 18, 1966 I served as the Alpha North forward observer with Alpha company, 1st battalion, 3rd Marines. My friend and radioman, Glen Richmond, called us all together where 2nd platoons CP group, Glen and Ken Stoddard listened to the attack on Alpha North by VC bolstered by NVA. Here is my thoughts about that event on April 18, 2015.

One of 3 major anniversaries for me. The other 2 may be more traumatic because having moved from 12th Marine HQ to FO at A-1-3 for Alpha North, except for Glen Richmond and Ken Stoddard, I was not at the Battery, and didn’t know any of you!

  •  Listening to the events via radio, watching the effect on Glen and Kenny, and living inside my own vivid imagination I feared, cried and prayed along with each of you!
  •  My prayers for Arnie, Danny, Fred, Ralph and Jake continue to this day! My amazement at the wonderful job all of you did in defending Alpha North is part of what makes me proud to have served with such magnificent Marines-where even the “cannon corker” is an expert rifleman! April 18, 1966 is forever part of my eternal memory: when we were Marines, and young!

Thanks for sharing your memories, guys. Love you all. In the Central Time Zone, there was 13 hours difference (they are ahead of us) since we had not yet started Daylight Savings time. That was a week away. At the moment of my brother’s death, my mom dropped some dishes which made a big crash and made her shake, not understanding then what had happened. I won’t forget….. should have known. Depending on what you believe, I think it was the invisible cord that connects mother and child, severed by physical death.
Bonnie is the sister of our brother PFC Robert “Arnie” Dwain Arnold!

Hillary Dickory Duck, She wants All Men Her “Cuck!” (Cuckold – a sexually abused man)!

Time to ignore the “liar in chief” and start to look at his possible successor!
The only question that remains about the Obama presidency is, ” how can 40% of the public be so blind as to still trust this conman?”  Maybe this article from an Eastern European Newspaper can explain it.

How come people in foreign lands have a better grasp on what is occurring in our country than most of our own people? I know this has been around before, but it is so well said that it deserves another trip through cyberspace.

From Prague, The Perfect Quote:

Occasionally people have the vocabulary to sum up things in a way that can be quickly understood; this quote – from the Czech Republic.

It was translated into English from an article in the Prague newspaper, Prager Zeitungon

“The danger to America is not Barack Obama, but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency.

It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools, such as those who made him their president.”

First of all I want to apologize for the language in the below message, and I hope somehow this might go viral, as the World needs to know what kind of a vile person wants to lead our Country.

Warning! These are her actual words and quite disgusting! It is not Nice language but these are her actual words.

” Where is the Goddamn fucking flag! I want the Goddamn fucking flag up every morning at fucking sunrise.”

From the book Inside the White House by Ronald Kessler, p.244- Hillary to staff at the Arkansas Governor’s mansion on Labor Day 1991.

” Fuck off! It’s enough I have to see you shit-kickers every day, I’m not going to talk to you too!! Just do your Goddamn job and keep your mouth shut.”

-From the book “America Evita” by Christopher Anderson, p.90-Hillary to her State Trooper body guards after one of them greeted her with Good Morning

” If you want to remain on this detail, get your fucking ass over here and grab those bags!”

From the book “The First Partner” p.259- Hillary to a Secret Service Agent who was reluctant to carry her luggage because he wanted to keep his hands free in case of an incident.

“Stay the fuck back, stay the fuck back away from me! Don’t come within ten yards of me, or else! Just fucking do as I say, Okay!!?”

-From the book “Unlimited Access” by Clinton FBI Agent in Charge, Gary Aldrige, p.139- Hillary screaming at her Secret Service detail.

“Where’s the miserable cock sucker!”

-From the book “The Truth About Hillary” by Edward Klein, p.5- Hillary shouting at a Secret Service officer.

” You fucking idiot! ”

From the book Crossfire p.84-Hillary to a State Trooper who was driving her to an event.

From the book “Dereliction of Duty” p.71-72– Hillary to Marine One helicopter pilot to turn back while en route to Air Force One.

“Come on Bill, put your dick up! You can’t fuck her here!!”

From the book “Inside the White House” by Ronald Kessler, p.243-Hillary to Gov. Clinton when she spots him talking with an attractive female.

This ill-tempered, violent, loud mouth, hateful and abusive woman wants to be your next president and have total control as commander and chief of our Military, the very Military for which she has shown incredible disdain throughout her public life.

Surely the people of the United States can easily do better than this.

For this reason we need to have Ben Carson, MD run for the presidency in 2016.  Ben Carson is a soft-spoken, black man of character and  proven ability!  Our inexperienced Community Organizer president doesn’t come close to the class Dr Ben Carson exhibits in everything he says and does!

The Panthers Were Right and Reagan Was Wrong on Gun Control

I suppose it takes a true radical these days to question the progressive’s sacred cow: Ronald Reagan. You read that right. This paradigm of modern conservatism was one of the most important American champions of gun control in recent decades, and so he has become a convenient talking point for liberals who want to argue that even Ronald Reagan favored strict gun laws.

And indeed, he did—all throughout his political career. As president he used executive order to ban the importation of certain shotguns, and later he threw his weight behind the Brady Bill and 1994 Assault Weapons Ban.

As governor of California, Reagan signed the Mulford Act into law in 1967. Written by Republican Assemblyman Don Mulford, the legislation was the most sweeping state edict in all the country, prohibiting the more or less free carrying of firearms in public. It went along with the rest of his heavy-handed entire law-and-order agenda and inspired an avalanche of new gun laws nationwide.

The purpose of the law was to disarm the Black Panthers, a radical leftist group that openly carried firearms, kept an eye out on the police, and even took their rifles to the state Capitol to protest what they decried as racist legislation.

In the late 1960s, the racism of gun control was fresh on many Civil Rights thinkers’ minds. Upholding gun rights for freed slaves was a primary motive behind the Fourteenth Amendment. State-level gun control became instrumental in suppressing blacks.

The history of American gun control is a history of racism and prejudice. In the early 20th century, the Sullivan Act in New York, banning the carrying of small arms, was likely aimed at Italian Immigrants. But for most of modern history, the major target was blacks.

David T. Beito and Linda Royster Beito explained the general dynamic in their book Black Maverick: T.R.M. Howard’s Fight for Civil Rights and Economic Power (Urbana and Chicago: University of Illinois Press, 2009), 103–4:

As black assertiveness [in Mississippi] increased, whites came forward with proposals for tougher gun control. The sponsors did not hide the centrality of race in their concerns. White concerns about gun control for blacks was not new. During the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, several southern states had enacted gun control laws that restricted access of cheap handguns to blacks. The term ‘Saturday night special’ may have originated during that period as a racial slur. In early 1954 an editorial in the Clarion-Ledger had stressed the dangers posed by .22 caliber pistols and rifles. Focusing on the example of an ‘allegedly “crazed” Negro’ who killed three white men, it lamented that these ‘weapons are easily obtained and ammunition for them can be bought anywhere.’ If this problem persisted, the editorial continued, laws should be enacted [for] ‘control of the sale of weapons and ammunition or the keeping of records on all such sales.’

In September 1954, a more ambitious proposal “to require registration of all firearms and records on all sales of ammunition” came close to becoming law. The backers explicitly promoted the bill as part of a package of “segregation-supporting” legislation and linked it to the crackdown on civil rights.

After racists bombed his home, Martin Luther King, Jr., generally an advocate for non-violence, procured weapons and attempted to get a concealed carry permit, but was rejected. The first major gun confiscations targeted blacks, who couldn’t rely on the police to protect them because the police were their enemies. Groups like the Deacons for Justice and Defense fought off the Klan and protected innocent blacks in the Jim Crow South.

Elaine Brown, head of the Black Panther Party in the 1970s, recently explained:

The position of the Black Panther Party was that black people live in communities occupied by police forces that are armed and dangerous and represent the frontline of forces keeping us oppressed. We did not promote guns, but rather, the right to defend ourselves against a state that was oppressing us — with guns. There were innumerable incidents in which police agents kicked in our doors or shot our brothers and sisters in what we called red-light trials, where the policeman was the judge, the jury and the executioner. We called for an immediate end to this brutality, and advocated for our right to self-defense. Today, the brutal police murders of Sean Bell in New York and Oscar Grant in Oakland are just two examples of how little has changed. The gun-control discussion could result in policies that further criminalize and target black people.

Conservatives, at their most radical, have made this connection: Condoleezza Rice and Ann Coulter have also argued that blacks should arm themselves if they want to protect themselves against racial violence. But not only rightwingers hone in on this: Ice-T argues that the right to keep and bear arms is to resist tyranny and “to protect yourself from the police.”

When Reagan and Nixon and the other Republicans in the 1960s advanced gun control, they were at least in part pandering to law-and-order conservatives who wanted police to have yet more power to protect them from minorities and the poor. If racism was not in the intent, it was definitely part of the effect.

Even today, gun laws are much like drug laws in that they are disproportionately used against minorities. Gun control is the chief impetus behind New York City’s Stop-and-Frisk program, which in 2011 ensnared young black men more times than there are young black men in the city, and targets minorities by a ratio of nine to one. Conservatives who defend this program are defending gun control at its most invasive—the wholesale profiling and searching of people in the attempt to procure guns, which conservatives claim people have a natural and constitutional right to carry in the first place. Liberals opposed to this program should recognize that to violate gun rights, government must violate other rights.

In the federal prison system, almost half of those convicted for gun control violations are black and a quarter are Hispanic. Because of mandatory minimums for gun violation, the average convicted gun offender—usually someone who never hurt anyone with the weapon—rots in prison for longer than the average convicted rapist.

Some on the left have begun rediscovering the racist roots of gun control. Adam Winkler’s Gunfight: The Battle Over the Right to Bear Arms in Americareviewed here by Thaddeus Russell—tells the story of gun confiscations committed by racist police working with the KKK. Craig Whitney discovers the intractable culture war in the debate in Living with Guns: A Liberal’s Case for the Second Amendment. Don Kates’s Restricting Handguns: The Liberal Skeptics Speak Out is a compilation from years ago. Yet the anti-gun control scholarship on the left remains thin.

There are left-friendly arguments for gun rights, but unfortunately we rarely hear them. Gun control is like the drug war, in that it empowers the police with a possession crime, which necessarily means violations of privacy rights, using snitches and dubious informants, and disproportionately high prison sentences for the non-violent act of illegal gun ownership. According to the Department of Justice, the average federal conviction for weapons violations resulted in 87 months in prison compared to 82 months for drug offenses and 28 months for property crimes.

It is impossible to keep criminals, of all people, from getting firearms—and if this wasn’t true ten years go, it will be in the age of 3-D printing. But in the quest to disarm the rabble, the police state can flex its power over the most vulnerable and marginalized people in society.

BOMBSHELL! Diplomatic Agent Reveals That Benghazi Attack Was An Inside Job!

Bumps in the Road

We’re the Battling Bastards of Benghazi,
no fame, no glory, no paparazzi.
Just a firey death in a blazing hell,
defending the country we loved so well.
It wasn’t our job, but we answered the call,
fought to the consulate, ‘n scalled th’ wall.
We pulled twenty countrymen from the jaws of fate,
led them to safety, ‘n stood at th’ gate.
Just the two of us, ‘n foe by th’ score,
but we stood fast to bar th’ door.
We called for reinforcement, but it was denied,
so we fought, ‘n we fought, ‘n we fought, ‘n we died.
We gave our all for our Uncle Sam,
‘n Obama didn’t give a damn,
just two dead SEALS, who carried the load,
no thanks to us, we were just “bumps in the road”

Exposing The Benghazi Coverup

The terrorists who attacked the Benghazi consulate last year knew the location of the safe room where Ambassador Chris Stevens and his security team sought shelter, according to a congressman who spoke for 90 minutes with the diplomatic security agent severely injured in the assault.

“He confirmed this – that it was a very well orchestrated, and well organized, almost a military operation, using military weapons and using military signals,” the late Florida Rep. Bill Young said after meeting diplomatic security agent David Ubben at Walter Reed Medical Center last summer, when both were patients there.

After Young’s death in mid-October, his widow, Beverly Young, gave Fox permission to use her husband’s comments about the Sep. 11, 2012 terrorist attack on the record.  The congressman had originally spoken to Fox on background last summer.

“He (Ubben) emphasized the fact that it was a very, very military type of operation they had knowledge of almost everything in the compound,” Young explained.“They knew where the gasoline was, they knew where the generators were, they knew where the safe room was, they knew more than they should have about that compound.”

Ubben was severely injured defending the CIA Annex when mortar fire rained down on the rooftop, killing former Navy Seals Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty and severely injuring a third CIA contractor who was interviewed by the House Intelligence committee Thursday.   After multiple surgeries, a source close to the contractor confirmed he has not regained the full use of his arm.

Asked if Ubben believed the terrorists had inside information, or had done reconnaissance, Young told Fox,  “Yes he (Ubben) did…It was pretty well figured out, where everything was, where the doors were located, where the safe room was – the whole thing.”

While Young debated whether to discuss his conversation with Ubben, he felt that, on balance, the country should know that the diplomatic security agent, who recovered the body of foreign service officer Sean Smith from the burning consulate, was heroic.

“He was pretty sure Sean was dead when he pulled him, but he felt like he had to recover him anyway and get him out.  He would have done the same for the ambassador but he wasn’t really sure where the ambassador was,” Young said.

Young added, “I think he is an awfully sincere young guy. And I think he is a real hero for what he did that night…He did something he didn’t have to do, put his life in danger, and we know he was seriously injured.  He took major injuries (that) came from the mortar that landed on the roof that killed the other two,”

An August 16 classified cable, reviewed and reported on by Fox News last fall, showed there was an emergency meeting in Benghazi less than a month before the attack due to rapidly deteriorating security.  The cable warned the office of Secretary of State  Hillary Clinton, and other State Department leaders in Washington, that the consulate could not sustain a coordinated assault.

The cable also reflected a grave concern among officials on the ground that the Libyan militia charged with protecting the consulate had been compromised, perhaps even infiltrated by extremists.

Summarizing the meeting, the cable reported that “certain sectors of the 17 FebruaryBrigade were very hesitant to share information with the Americans, but as the largest brigade they acted as a buffer for the Mission against some of the more anti-American, Islamist militias in town.” The brigade was charged with protecting the consulate.

According to Young, Ubben described how the guard force melted away as the consulate came under assault. “He said that when the attack started, the Libyan security folks who were supposed to secure the compound, they ran. So, they were at the mercy of their own capabilities.” source – Fox News

THIS IS A TRUE STORY . . . and a dirty one!

“America, I saw firsthand how cold this man is. What kind of liar he is. Most of you haven’t a clue about this tyrant and yet you support him. And act like every word he says is Gospel. These murders and the fast and furious cover-ups make Watergate look like a kid who told his bff’s secret to the class.

Snopes is controlled by extreme liberals. Let me advise you that if you chose to check this out on, you will find the following:

After spewing out 26 paragraphs clouding the facts brought out by family members (after privately conferring with Americans that were on the scene, but forced to officially sign “Non-Disclosure Agreements” or lose their jobs), Snopes eventually says in Summary:

“The circumstances of Ambassador Steven’s death is still under investigation:

“The FBI has now opened an inquiry into the attack and the circumstances of the deaths of the three  ( Three or four? boys come on out with it) who were killed.

” ‘We are not clear on the circumstances between the time when <the Ambassador> got separated from the rest of the  group inside the burning building to the time we were notified that he was in a Benghazi hospital,’ a US Official said.”

You need to read this true account of what happened to our Ambassador Stevens and the other 3 who died. If this doesn’t make you mad……………Cynthia Lee Myers wanted to share the truth of what happened over in Libya, you will not find this in the media yet but it airs tonight on FNC…..please  read….”Here is my story. A week out the Embassy in Tripoli began receiving multiple tips about an Al Queda cell in the area planning an attack on 9/11 in response to the killing of Bin Laden. For the next several days, the state dept and WH were asked for a security force and were denied at least six times. Ambassador Stevens and his team were given  the all clear that the Consulate in Benghazi was safe and there was no need for a security force other than his 3 personal guards (one being my cousin) and a few Libyans who were not armed.”Then the attack and murders occurred. Immediately the WH claimed it was a protest gone bad  over a you tube video. Obama made a quick speech in the Rose Garden on  Sept.12 before catching a plane to Vegas to campaign. He made a generic statement at the end of his speech after placing the blame on an overheated protest over the video. He said “No act of terror will shake the resolve of America. Later that day and over the next 2 days, the liberal media began saying Ambassador Stevens and the other 3 men died of  smoke inhalation. This was not the case. Out of respect for my cousin, I’m  not going to be specific about his murder. However Ambassador Stevens was brutally murdered. His genitals were cut off, he was sodomized and beaten and cut and stabbed and burned. He was dragged thru the streets and left for dead. This is eyewitness testimony of a local Dr. who found the Ambassador in a ditch and tried to save his life. He had no idea who he was. The other 3 men, including my cousin, met similar fates. And deaths due to smoke inhalation is a 100% fabricated LIE. The next week I drove my aunt and uncle and 2 others to DC to receive his body. We met with Hillary, Panetta, and Susan Rice, ALL of whom apologized and said it was a protest gone bad over a video and exited the area. Next Obama entered with the same story and didn’t apologize and wasn’t sympathetic. My aunt cried to this man and all he did was hand her flowers and walk away. I tried to get his attention, but didn’t. I got upset and yelled “liar” to him, he kept walking. Then a secret service agent grabbed my arm and led me to a room where I was held till the proceedings were over.”America, I saw firsthand how cold this man is. What kind of liar he is. Most of you haven’t a clue about this tyrant and yet you support him. And act like every word he says is Gospel. These murders and the fast and furious cover-ups make Watergate look like a kid who told his bff’s secret to the class.”We must stop this man, and please pass this story along — God Bless America!”THIS PART YOU DON’T KNOW, BUT  SHOULD.

The stunning part of this story is that Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty killed 60 of the attacking force. Once the compound was overrun, the attackers were  incensed to discover that just two men had inflicted so much death and destruction.

The news has been full of the attacks on our embassies  throughout the Muslim world, and in particular, the deaths of Ambassador Chris Stevens and three others in Benghazi, Libya. However, there’s a little known story of incredible bravery, heroics, and courage that should be the top story.

So what actually happened at the U.S. embassy in Libya? We are learning more about this every day. Ambassador Stevens and  Foreign Service officer Sean Smith, along with administrative staff, were working out of temporary quarters due to the fact that in the spring of 2011 during the so-called Arab Spring, the United States cut ties with then president Moammar Gadhafi. Our embassy was looted and ransacked, causing it to be unusable. It is still in a state of disrepair.

Security for embassies and their personnel is to be provided by the host nation. Since Libya has gone through a civil war of sorts in the past 18 months, the current government is very unstable, and therefore, unreliable.

A well-organized attack by radical Muslims was planned specifically targeting the temporary U.S. embassy building. The Libyan security force that was in place to protect our people deserted their post, or joined the attacking force. Either way, our people were in a real fix. And it should be noted that Ambassador Stevens had mentioned on more than one occasion to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, that he was quite concerned for his personal safety and the welfare of his people. It is thought that Ambassador Stevens was on a “hit list”.

A short distance from the American compound, two Americans were sleeping. They were in Libya as independent contractors working an assignment totally unrelated to our embassy. They also happened to be former Navy Seals.

When they heard the noise coming from the attack on our embassy, as you would expect from highly trained warriors, they ran to the fight. Apparently, they had no weapons, but seeing the Libyan guards dropping their guns in their haste in fleeing the scene, Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty snatched up several of these discarded weapons and prepared to defend the American compound.

Not knowing exactly what was taking place, the two Seals set up a defensive perimeter. Unfortunately, Ambassador Stevens was already gravely injured, and Foreign Service officer, Sean Smith, was dead. However, due to their quick action and suppressive fire, twenty administrative personnel in the embassy were able to escape to safety. Eventually, these two courageous men were overwhelmed by the sheer numbers brought against them, an enemy force numbering  between 100 to 200 attackers which came in two waves. But the stunning part of the story is that Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty killed 60 of the attacking force. Once the compound was overrun, the attackers were incensed to discover that just two men had inflicted so much death and destruction.

As it became apparent to these selfless heroes, they were definitely going to lose their lives unless some reinforcements showed up in a hurry. As we know now, that was not to be. I’m fairly certain they knew they were going to die in this gun fight, but not before they took a whole lot of bad guys with them!

Consider these tenets  of the Navy SEAL Code:
1) Loyalty to Country, Team and Teammate,
2) Serve with Honor and Integrity On and Off the Battlefield,
3) Ready to Lead, Ready to Follow, Never Quit,
4) Take responsibility for your actions and the actions of your teammates,
5) Excel as Warriors through Discipline and Innovation,
6) Train for War, Fight to Win, Defeat our Nation’s Enemies, and…
7) Earn your Trident every day

( <><>  ).

Thank you, Tyrone and Glen. To the very last breath, you both  lived up to the SEAL Code. You served all of us well. You were courageous  in the face of certain death.
And Tyrone, even though you never got to hold your newborn son, he will grow up knowing the character and quality of his father, a man among men who sacrificed himself defending others.

These men, as well as all first responders(police, fire,EMT’s, etc.) all military and most school teachers are the only true heroes in America!

ANDREW ASHCRAFT:  “He had some athletic ability in him and he was a go-getter, too. You could pretty much see, from young freshman all the way, he was going to be physically active,” said his football coach, Lou Beneitone. Beneitone said athletic prowess was a must for the Hotshots.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was honored to be a member of the Hotshot crew.

Ashcraft left behind a wife, Juliann, and four children, the newspaper reported.

ROBERT CALDWELL: Friends characterized Robert Caldwell, 23, as the smart man in the bunch.

“He …could get the weather, figure out the mathematics. It was just natural for him,” claimed his friends.

TRAVIS CARTER:  Travis Carter, 31, was known as the strongest one out of the crew — he was also very humble.

“No one could beat him,” trainer Janine Pereira said. “But the thing about him, was he would never brag about it. He would just kill everyone and then go and start helping someone else finish.”

DUSTIN DEFORD, 24, tried out for the Hotshot crew in January 2012, telling friends on Twitter that he had passed the physical fitness test and asking for prayers as he moved on to the interview stage of the process.

He was from Montana and he worked to improve his skills on the climbing wall at Captain Crossfit gym near the firehouse.

“You would say something to him, and he would respond with a crack, which was funny because he was so shy,”  said Captain Crossfit trainer, Janine Pereira.

CHRIS MACKENZIE, 30-year-old Chris MacKenzie grew up in California’s San Jacinto Valley.  He joined the U.S. Forest Service in 2004, then transferred two years ago to the Prescott Fire Department.

ERIC MARSH, 43,  grew up in Ashe County, N.C., but decided on firefighting while studying biology at Arizona State University, said Leanna Racquer, the ex-wife of his cousin.

Marsh was superintendent of the Hotshot crew and the oldest of the 19 who died.

“He was compassionate and caring about his crew.”GRANT MCKEE, 21, loved to give things away.

McKee’s cousin, Robert Caldwell, also was a Hotshot and also was killed on Sunday. He would ask for extra shifts at the emergency room. And because his superiors liked him, they would give them to him, Laurie McKee said.

“Grant was one of the most likable people you could ever meet,” she said. “Grant was friendly, he was outgoing. Everybody loved Grant.”

SEAN MISNER, 26, leaves behind a wife who is seven months pregnant, said Mark Swanitz, principal of Santa Ynez Valley Union High School in Santa Barbara County, where Misner graduated in 2005.

“He was a team player, a real helper,” Swanitz told The Associated Press on Monday.SCOTT NORRIS, 28, was known around Prescott through his part-time job at Bucky O’Neill Guns.

“Here in Arizona the gun shops are a lot like barbershops. Sometimes you don’t go in there to buy anything at all, you just go to talk,” said resident William O’Hara. “I never heard a dirty word out of the guy. He was the kind of guy who if he dated your daughter, you’d be OK with it.

“He was just a model of a young, ideal American gentleman.”
WADE PARKER, 22, Wade Parker had just joined the Hotshots team. His father works for the nearby Chino Valley Fire Department, said retired Prescott Fire Department Capt. Jeff Knotek, who had known Wade since he was “just a little guy.”

“He was another guy who wanted to be a second generation firefighter,” Knotek said. “Big, athletic kid who loved it, aggressive, assertive and in great shape.”

JOHN PERCIN JR. 24, was a multisport high school athlete who graduated in 2007 from West Linn High School, southeast of Portland.

“It’s already tragic when you hear about those who died,” McEvers told the newspaper, “but when you find out it’s someone you know personally, it’s tough.”

ANTHONY ROSE, 23, was one of the youngest victims. He grew up in Wisconsin and previously worked as a firefighter in nearby Crown King before moving on to become a Hotshot.

Retired Crown King firefighter Greg Flores said Rose “just blossomed in the fire department. He did so well and helped so much in Crown King. We were all so very proud of him.”

“He was the kind of guy that his smile lit up the whole room and everyone would just rally around him,” he said. “He loved what he was doing, and that brings me some peace of heart.”JESSE STEED, 36, was one of the older members of the crew. Renton, Wash., police officer Cassidy Steed said his brother “always put his life on the line for people who he knew he would never meet.”

JOE THURSTON, 32, used to go to an area reservoir with friends and promptly show how fearless he could be.

“He was definitely one of the daredevil types,” longtime friend Scott Goodrich told the Salt Lake Tribune. “We went to Quail (Creek) Reservoir, and we’d be finding 40- to 50-foot cliffs that people would be scared to jump off. He would just show up and be front-flipping off of them.”

Thurston was also determined, generous and hardworking, his friends said.TRAVIS TURBYFILLl, 27, often worked with other Hotshots at Captain Crossfit, a warehouse filled with mats, obstacle courses, climbing walls and acrobatic rings near the firehouse. He would train in the morning and then return in the afternoon with his wife and kids.

Tony Burris, another Captain Crossfit trainer, said he enjoyed watching Turby with his two daughters.”Because he’s this big, huge Marine, Hotshot guy, and he has two little girls, reddish, blonde curly hair, and they just loved their dad,” he said.

His wife, Stephanie, sent this statement to ABC15’s Adam Slinger Tuesday morning, “Travis was a strong man, a great firefighter, and a natural leader. But more than anything he was a man of God, my loving husband, and an absolutely wonderful daddy to our two sweet little girls. He is tremendously missed by all of us.”

BILLY WARNEKE, 25, and his wife, Roxanne, were expecting their first child in December, his grandmother, Nancy Warneke, told The Press-Enterprise newspaper in Riverside, Calif. Warneke grew up in Hemet, Calif., along with his fellow Granite Mountain hotshot, Chris MacKenzie. He was a four-year Marine Corps veteran who served a tour in Iraq and had joined the hotshot crew in April, buying a property in Prescott, near where his sister lived, the newspaper reported.”

CLAYTON WHITTED, 28, might not have been the biggest guy around, but he was among the hardest-working. His former Prescott High School coach, Lou Beneitone, said Whitted was a “wonderful kid” who always had a big smile on his face. Whitted played for the football team as an offensive and defensive lineman.

“He was a smart young man with a great personality, just a wonderful personality,” said Beneitone. “When he walked into a room, he could really light it up.”

KEVIN WOYJECK, 21-year-old Kevin Woyjeck, the fire station was always a second home. His father, Capt. Joe Woyjeck, is a nearly 30-year veteran of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.”He wanted to become a firefighter like his dad and hopefully work hand-in-hand,” Mora said Monday outside of the fire station in Seal Beach, Calif., where the Woyjeck family lives.

GARRET ZUPPIGER, 27, loved to be funny, said Tony Burris, a trainer at a gym where many of the Hotshots worked out.

Burris said the two bonded over their hyper-manly ginger facial hair.

“We both had a red beard and so we would always admire each other’s beards,” he said. “We also had a few conversations about beer.”

“Garret Zuppiger turns 25!” he wrote in a post several years ago. “Everyday is like a gift!!”
