You need to know two things about me before I explain The Challenge:
First, I don’t respect many politicians. In fact, the career politician is about the most wasted person in the country. The only people more wasted is the business person depending on “political corporate cronyism” and the “welfare cheats.” That is “cheats” not the people that need it! A real politician has been successful in the real world, then dedicates a few years of his life to helping do what is right for the country. Once he has done his duty for a few years, he returns home to pick up his business, and resume a normal life. The career politicians and the tribal chiefs and assorted royal consorts around them are nothing but “BIG PIGS!” If you want to hear what I really feel and think, keep reading.
Second, the term entitlement is a misnomer . You either earn something, invest in something or get a gift. Millions of us are in the 47% that do not pay taxes. What I get I earned or invested in. The fact I pay no taxes has to do with the tax laws, cost of living and income level. Those getting a gift think they are entitled, but they are not. A gift does not last forever. In fact, during my working years, many of my taxes went to some of the people receiving a gift, as well as to build the roads and bridges that according to Mr Obama, we didn’t build!
My retirement income comes from social security, which I’ve paid into since I was 15 years old. The second source of income is compensation from the Veterans Administration, due to wounds received in Vietnam. I worked as long as I could, but when this battered body became too worn out to continue, I was thankful that I was part of the VA system, ever since coming home from Vietnam. Once I needed it, the VA was there to help pick up the slack since I could no longer work.
What does one have to do to receive VA compensation? He must live like an animal for some portion of his most productive years. It might be in the jungles of Vietnam or the frozen tundra of Korea; or possibly the sand dunes of Iraq or the rugged and cold climate of Afghanistan. Even many of these people never qualify for VA compensation. To receive that “EARNED BENEFIT” you probably also left part of your body or mind, most definitely some of your blood in the land where you lived like an animal while your peers were getting their start in the real world!
While trying to stay in a positive frame of mind, I sometimes slip back into rage (or at least extreme anger) over the career politicians that send our young people into these Godforsaken parts of the world. We have so much technology and wonderful weapons to decimate any enemy, with minimal danger to our troops. I am always amazed that we make our military resort to World War II tactics when we have space age technology. Better yet, why don’t the political clowns in the entire world get together and end this nonsense we call war?
Now, when you read this you might think I am a pacifist, democrat! Not by a long-shot, although I grew up thinking democrats were the good guys and had all the answers. As an adult I woke up! As I mentioned above, I am a 47% person for Romney! Romney will not do anything to hurt those of us in our retirement years, and even those 10 years younger! His plan to readjust these necessary programs for those younger than 55 years old will actually save them for future generations without bringing about the bankruptcy all of these programs face with the democrat spending problem. Some addicts take in substances. The democrat addicts throw money around like it is endless. They think being a spendthrift has no negative consequences. In fact, at the rate Obama spends money, those of us that are well past our prime will soon be either cut-off, or else paid in worthless dollars! In either case, with Obama we all suffer. With Romney we have a chance of escaping the fate of Greece!
That brings me to THE CHALLENGE: I am putting all of my faith in Romney. To do so goes against my grain as mentioned above. However, our country is on the precipice to complete economic destruction. I had great hopes for Obama! He let me down! He had a veto proof Senate and great majority in the House of Representatives for the first two years of his administration. The major problem we faced (and indicated by most Americans in opinion polls) was the economy. You can only fix an economy by creating more jobs. He did not create more jobs, or fix the economy with all of his wasteful spending! I’m afraid 4 more years of this and none of us will be able to make it unless we have a treasure trove of gold and silver stored in our attic. My family has neither, so we need Mr Romney to fix this economy. His history shows he has the ability to do it! We gambled on Mr Obama, who had no (and still doesn’t) business experience. He has shown us that he ran out of HOPE and CHANGE early. He claimed, “Yes, we can!” We as a people, elected him, and now he says, “No, we can’t. I can’t change it from the inside.” So, maybe you better go back to the outside, and see if you can do it as a former president, Mr Obama! In fact, Ronald Reagan inherited as big a mess as you did. He fixed it with leadership! He was from the outside, as you were, but when he got to the inside he was a leader, made friends with the democratic leadership, and restored our economy! He never gloated and said, “Hey, I won!” to Tip O’Neal or any of the democrats. Reagan was, as Romney will be, friendly, conciliatory and effective!
So, The CHALLENGE is: AMERICA PUT ROMNEY IN OFFICE, AND GIVE HIM THE SAME GIFT WE GAVE PRESIDENT OBAMA–A VETO PROOF SENATE AND A MAJORITY IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. If, at the end of two years we do not see a major improvement in jobs and the economy we can dump his majority in the Senate and House, and replace him two years later! Not only will I feel betrayed by Mr Romney, in that case, but I will do all in my power to support his opponent in the 2016 election! I’m not even sure Romney will need a veto proof Senate, just the majority will probably do it. Romney is smart enough to get a lot of help from the other side of the aisle!
Romney is a terrible campaigner but with a strong business sense! Obama is a great campaigner but wouldn’t know how to run a 25 cent lemonade stand! It’s looking a lot like the 2008 election. However, we were snookered in 2008, please do not let it happen again!
ADVERT. Section: Is your computer backed up at an off-site location? If not you might want to check out the following web site. 80% of computer owners do not have back up! Even if you use an on-site method, you might still lose everything from a robbery or flood. If this is a concern of yours, please go to
MITT: My first point is that I am so happy and grateful for the opportunity to elect you so we can get out from under this umbrella of fear of the socialistic policies of the Obama administration! The democratic, leftist policies are taking us down the same road to destruction we are seeing in Greece, soon followed by Southern Europe, then the rest of those socialists states in the Common Market system.
Next, dear Mitt, look closely at those that are advising you. Whoever told you to do that stupid press conference at 10 P:M on September 17th must go. As soon as I saw you walk out, my gut told me, “Oh, oh, another mistake! Someone is leading Mitt into a trap!” I hope this teaches you to never rush into a buzz saw again.
You have been a successful business man. You must have a strong ability to read your “gut feelings,” then do the right thing.
I have been an unsuccessful business man. I still had the strong “gut feeling” but didn’t know what to do, thus often choosing the wrong thing. That is the difference between the successful business man and the one that fails! However, the “gut feeling” is still there. The success just made the right decisions.
Look, this election is not just another election. The results will be a disaster if Obama is re-elected. You need to start telling this fact.
Obama might be a nice man (debatable point:can a Chicago con man and thug be a nice man-even the mafia members were nice to their families). If you start telling the facts, head on, you can get many of the 47% to vote for you. Once they realize that Obama is taking our economy to OBLIVION, and they will lose their benefits because of Obama’s incompetence (or designed destruction) if you are not elected. See my earlier blog, “Democrats Please Don’t Kill the Golden Goose!” You and Ryan have a logical approach to fixing these problems. Obama is rushing into financial chaos!
If you start telling these important points (and stop being so nice/let those around you be even meaner) you will swing the middle to you, and a large number of the 47%! These folks are intelligent enough to know that economic chaos will hurt them as well as everyone else!
One final thought: Yes, Bush made some terrible mistakes, mostly in his last two years, after the democrats took control of congress! His two mistakes were, going into Iraq before the success in Afghanistan was won ; and not coming to the people and exposing the disastrous housing crises that the democrats created. If you haven’t looked at the history of the housing crises let me encapsulate it by saying it began under Jimmy Carter, made worse by Clinton. Dodd and Frank, the so-called heroes of the crisis, are actually the two main culprits in allowing it to get as bad as it ultimately became. They should be in jail! I know if you look at the history you will come to the same conclusion.
In any event, if you will show the people the states that are leading the country out of the recession are the states run by republican governors; then the problems started after the democrats took control in January 2007. Facts are fact and gas was under $2 a gallon, unemployment was hovering around a 5% mark (which is nearly full employment), and except for the lies of the Lame-brain- democratic-media the USA was doing quit well!
That’s enough for now, Mitt! You really need to listen to some of the regular folks like my wife and me. The professional advisors are not with it, and have no idea what Americans really think and feel!
As Sen. Inhofe, senior member of the Senate Armed Services committee asked on the Senate floor last week, “Would you rather spend $4 billion on Air Force Base solar panels or would you rather have 28 new F-22s or 30 F-35s or modernized C-130s?” Considering a large portion of the jet fighters we use to defend America today were developed in the 60s and built in the 70s, that is a very good question.
George W Bush proved the Muslim Terrorists only respect the strong horse. A few examples: While Bush was in office, Qaddafi gave up his nuke capacity; attacks on American soil ended; and logical methods of interrogation and spy systems had the terrorists on the run everywhere!
This is the choice we now face. This is what the election comes down to. Over and over, we have been told by our opponents that bigger tax cuts and fewer regulations are the only way; that since government can’t do everything, it should do almost nothing. If you can’t afford health insurance, hope that you don’t get sick. If a company releases toxic pollution into the air your children breathe, well, that’s just the price of progress. If you can’t afford to start a business or go to college, take my opponent’s advice and “borrow money from your parents.”You know what? That’s not who we are. That’s not what this country’s about. We believe in something called citizenship — word at the very heart of our founding, at the very essence of our democracy; the idea that this country only works when we accept certain obligations to one another, and to future generations. We believe that when a CEO pays his autoworkers enough to buy the cars that they build, the whole company does better. We believe that when a family can no longer be tricked into signing a mortgage they can’t afford, that family is protected, but so is the value of other people’s homes, and so is the entire economy. We believe that a little girl who’s offered an escape from poverty by a great teacher or a grant for college could become the founder of the next Google, or the scientist who cures cancer, or the President of the United States — and it’s in our power to give her that chance.

The case against reelection
Krauthammer writes a politics column that runs on Fridays.
What program? Obama laid it out boldly in a series of major addresses during the first months of his presidency. The roots of the nation’s crisis, he declared, were systemic. Fundamental change was required. He had come to deliver it. Hence his signature legislation:
First, the $831 billion stimulus that was going to “reinvest” in America and bring unemployment below 6 percent. We know about the unemployment. And the investment? Obama loves to cite great federal projects such as the Hoover Dam and the interstate highway system. Fine. Name one thing of any note created by Obama’s Niagara of borrowed money. A modernized electric grid? Ports dredged to receive the larger ships soon to traverse a widened Panama Canal? Nothing of the sort. Solyndra, anyone?
Second, radical reform of health care that would reduce its ruinously accelerating cost: “Put simply,” he said, “our health-care problem is our deficit problem” — a financial hemorrhage drowning us in debt.
Except that Obamacare adds to spending. The Congressional Budget Office reports that Obamacare will incur $1.68 trillion of new expenditures in its first decade. To say nothing of the price of the uncertainty introduced by an impossibly complex remaking of one-sixth of the economy — discouraging hiring and expansion as trillions of investable private-sector dollars remain sidelined.
The third part of Obama’s promised transformation was energy. His cap-and-trade federal takeover was rejected by his own Democratic Senate. So the war on fossil fuels has been conducted unilaterally by bureaucratic fiat. Regulations that will kill coal. A no-brainer pipeline (Keystone) rejected lest Canadian oil sands be burned. (China will burn them instead.) A drilling moratorium in the Gulf of Mexico that a federal judge severely criticized as illegal.
That was the program — now so unpopular that Obama barely mentions it. Obamacare got exactly two lines in this year’s State of the Union address. Seen any ads touting the stimulus? The drilling moratorium? Keystone?
Ideas matter. The 2010 election, the most ideological since 1980, saw the voters resoundingly reject a Democratic Party that was relentlessly expanding the power, spending, scope and reach of government.
It’s worse now. Those who have struggled to create a family business, a corner restaurant, a medical practice won’t take kindly to being told that their success is a result of government-built roads and bridges.
In 1988, Michael Dukakis famously said, “This election is not about ideology; it’s about competence.” He lost. If Republicans want to win, Obama’s deeply revealing, teleprompter-free you-didn’t-build-that confession of faith needs to be hung around his neck until Election Day. The third consecutive summer-of-recovery-that-never-came is attributable not just to Obama being in over his head but, even more important, to what’s in his head: a government-centered vision of the economy and society, and the policies that flow from it.
Four years of that and this is what you get.
Make the case and you win the White House.
Even Obama knows doesn’t have a real reason to get reelected. If he did such a bangup job creating jobs and getting the economy back on track why aren’t those his talking points? The answer…. everyone knows that his record on the economy and jobs are beyond terrible. Instead after four years he blames about every thing from Bush to the weather about why the economy is still in the ditch.
What is path to victory? Hey… this guy Romney would bollocks things up worse that I have. Not a great reason to vote for some one. Those on the left are going to find some excuse to vote for Obama because…… well they are leftest… Anyway you cut it Charles is correct. Obama has no economic/job creation creditionals to run on and its not going to get better before the election rolls around the first week in November.
Some important facts you liberals seem not to remember.
The Democrats controlled everything for the first two years Obama was in office. And the dems could have done anything they wanted about jobs and the economy. The Republicans could not left a finger to stop them. What did Barack Obama do? Drive the deficit up by almost 6 trillion dollars and come up with a crazy health care plan most Americans hate and will really hate once they find out health care for most Americans will be worse than it is now, as well as more expensive. Of course there is his job record: record length of high unemployment; record poverty, record child poverty, record deficits, a workforce that has actually shrunk since he took office. If the workforce was the same size today as it was when B O took office the unemployment rate would be over 11%. If you look at the U-6 unemployment number (broadest measure of unemployment) from the Labor Department it went to 15% in July. Lets see…. where were we…. Oh yes…. a reduction in wealth of over $4,000 per family, record number of home foreclosures, record number of bankruptcies (personal and business), on and on we could go.
So, if you cannot see why a vote for Obama is committing national suicide, you must be an Obama Kool-Aid drinker. I suppose there is another category of voter for BO, and that is the ignorant! You may be very intelligent, but if you are ignorant of the facts outlined above, you may still want to vote for the guy! Now, if you read this, you are no longer ignorant of the pertinent facts, so vote for anyone but Barack Hussein Obama. I am enthusiastic for Romney!

Bill Maher, the “comedian” who is one of Barack Obama’s biggest donors, is even getting involved. He called Congressman Allan West an ape! Sounds a little racist there Billy Boy!
Referring to the above comment, Allen West is 1,000 times smarter than Bill Maher! Allen grew up on the streets of Atlanta. He can talk “Street Talk” or like a college grad! Allen has two Masters Degrees! Did Bill Maher even go to college?
I am happy with Paul Ryan as the vice presidential pick by Romney. However, he could have also been in great shape if he picked Allen West. Conservative black Americans are often ridiculed or ignored by the liberal media! I could give many reasons why Allen West would have been an excellent pick, but let me just cite two reasons. Everyone in the military holds Allen in the highest regard! The troops love Allen, because they know he would put himself out on a limb to keep his men safe!
The second reason is that in a debate with Joe Biden, the public would see the difference between a pin-headed liberal and a real conservative, American patriot!
To conclude this point I want to say I look forward to the day we can get behind Allen West for the first, real black American President!
